Environmental permits

According to the new legislation, the local self-government units received a larger scope of competencies in the area of protection and improvement of the environment.
According to the Law on Environment, from 01.01.2006. the procedure for issuing A and B integrated environmental permits begins.

The integrated permitting system provides for the issuance of:

An integrated permissions to be issued by the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning. These installations will need to meet the Best Available Techniques (BAT) requirements. The deadline for reaching an agreement with BAT (Best Avilaibile Techniljues) is 2014.

B integrated permissions which will be issued by the local self-government units. The installations that will be subject to these permits will not be obliged to meet the requirements of BAT, but only to comply with the standards for emission limit values.
